Position Vacant: ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

The Assistant Director of Education will be responsible to the Board of Management to lead and direct all educational activities within the school in line with the ethos and aims of ABACAS Kilbarrack.  

The candidate will have a Master’s Degree in Psychology or related discipline relevant to ABA methods. (Candidates currently within a Master’s Program may be considered)  It would be desirable that the person would also either hold qualifications in ABA methodology such as BCBA or be eligible to take this qualification.  

The candidate should have a minimum of 1 years management experience in a senior role within an educational setting or special needs centre.  The candidate should show clear team leading skills and ability to motivate and co-ordinate a multi-disciplinary team.

The Assistant Director role is to promote best practice in ABA education for both children and staff in an evolving school model. The Assistant Director is responsible directly to the Board of Management  The person should have a keen interest in ongoing research and development of the ABA school model.

The Assistant Director will work closely with the School Manager on issues of financing, budgeting, administration, staff recruitment and training.

The Assistant Director will lead initiatives to link the school with outside agencies for educational and vocational needs.
