The 32 Marathons - what's in it for me and my group?

The 32 Marathons Event is just over a month away.

IAA feel that a time of recession when money is tight everywhere, that this represents a magnificent fund raising opportunity, on both a national and local level.

That's right; there are a number of ways that you can use the 32 Marathons Event to raise money for your group or school.

So let’s help each other to raise a much as possible!!

1.  For every person you secure to run a marathon or a half marathon;

Your group gets a pro rata share of the net proceeds in your county.

For example, if we have 32 runners from your county and your group has got 16 of those people to register, your group will then get 50% of the net proceeds.

So that we can accurately distribute the net proceeds, please email Colette at colette@autismireland.ie with the names of those people from whom you secured registrations.

We can guarantee that the appropriate share of net proceeds goes to your group.

2. Colette is securing collection permits for collections in each county. All we require from your group is the volunteer bucket collectors to maximise the return.

Please note that all bucket collection proceeds will remain with your group.

All IAA require is for your group to advise us of the total collected so that we can accurately declare a total national figure.

3. Walkathon: as you will be aware on World Autism Day we announced details of the walkathon.

All proceeds from the sponsored walk will remain within the groups.

Sponsorship cards are available from IAA office. The walkathon will happen in conjunction with the marathon i.e. same day, same route.

After the runners have commenced their marathon, the walkathon will take place. Again, all IAA require is to be advised of the total sum raised in your county so that we can add it to the national total.

The challenge is how many people YOUR group can get to walk a mile for autism.

4.    Expert – the chain of electrical outlets have agreed to support the marathon.

We will have recycling depots in each Expert shop to facilitate recycling of mobile phones, laptops, MP3 players.

This is being done in conjunction with BPI Telecom. All proceeds from the recycling in your county will be split 50/50 with IAA. See below for an attached list of Expert Stores.

5. A text donation campaign is also being done in conjunction with the marathons. All net proceeds from any texts in your county will be donated to your group.

Colette will be in further contact to explain how the text campaign will work.

Please note – if people want to register to run in this event, all they have to do is contact Colette on 044 9342576 (colette@autismireland.ie) and give her your details.
She can register you herself.
