Raymond Weil

The Raymond Weil and Keith Duffy Masquerade Ball in Aid of Irish Autism Action and Saplings School Rathfarnham was held last night in the Great Hall, The Royal Hospital Kilmainham.

Proudly supported by luxury watchmaker Raymond Weil there was a Silent Auction featuring the work of ten of Ireland's top artists including; Graham Knuttel, Pauline Bewick, Hillary Orpen, Bernadette Madden, Helen Steele, Carmel Mooney, Denise Hussey, Paul Timoney, Sheila McCarron.

The theme of time was applied to each of the works with artists interpreting their own individual way the fundamental importance of time in the early detection of autism.

All artworks as well as an exceptional Raymond Weil pink gold ladies timepiece were auctioned in aid of the IAA and Saplings School.

Guests were also asked to Sponsor A Child at the Solas Centre; and many gave the neccessary €1500 in order that every family has the chance to receive a comprehensive diagnosis.

Our hosts Raymond Weil gave a spectacular timepiece to everyone who raised their hand to make a real difference.

Early diagnosis is the key to early intervention, and early intervention offers our children the best chance to overcome the sensory challenges of autism and get the best possible quality of life.

Along with Solas, The Saplings School Rathfarnham were the other great benefactor of the night. This school, set up in 2004 is one of 13 recognised by the state as a centre of excellence for appropriate intervention. However, while they are partly funded by the Department of Education and Health Service, they must constantly raise extra funds to provide vital on-site services that children with autism desperately need, such as Speech and Language, and Occupational Therapy.

The Parents Association are very grateful for the support of all who attended, especially Raymond Weil.

Put simply, it is thanks to you that each of us can sleep at night, knowing that our children are getting the best possible intervention.
