So far this year our friends at Merlin Motor Group have supported Irish Autism Action in a number of ways:
Merlin Motor Group Golf Classic
This year’s Merlin Motor Group Golf Classic is was hosted by the Mount Wolseley Hotel, Spa & Country Club in Tullow, Co. Carlow. The Event took place on Wednesday October 1st .
The Golf kicked off with 2 shotgun starts, one at 9am and the other at 2pm.
Proceeds from this event were shared between IAA and the Saplings School in Carlow.
Like all our ABA schools, The Saplings School relies on Fundraising for up to 20% of it's running costs. This means that there is not compromise in the quality of tailored supervised and qualified intervention delivered to the children lucky enough to attend.
Merlin's support is making a real difference to the educational outcomes for these kids, and to their family's quality of life, and we are extremely grateful.
But That's Not All...
Merlin Motor Group also hosted a fundraising night for Irish Autism Action on Thursday November 20th 2008. The event took place in Shelbourne Park, Dublin and a fun night was had by all.
Many thanks to all who came along to help raise funds and to Merlin for sponsoring the event. Particular thanks go to staff from Merlin who attended and helped with selling raffle tickets to the punters on the night.
(especially the lady who sold tickets to the trackside bookies!!)
These much needed funds go to support our national office projects like Advocacy and The Solas Centre, Diagnostics, Support and Counselling services.
But Wait! They are doing even more....
The Late Late Show Celebs on Ice and Boyzone Special, with Brian Ormond and Merlin Motor Group
Back for the second time the Late Late Show Celebs on Ice Challenge comes with a twist as this year's final coincides with a Late Late Show Boyzone Special.
Four celebrities will be revealed to the public on next Friday's Late Late Show. Each prepared to take to the ice for charity in a quest of being crowned this year's champion.
Under the tutorage of our two professional coaches our celebrities hope to become masters of the ice before skating live at the 7UP Christmas on Ice on the 19th of December. This year they will be judged by non-other than Boyzone who will be performing with us live on the night as part of our Boyzone Special.
Each of the sponsors is committing a whopping €15,000 to charity so thanks to the Merlin Motor Group for supporting Irish Autism Action, once again!

All of the ice skating will take place at Ireland's largest ice spectacular 7up Christmas on Ice, which runs until the 11th of January at the RDS and until the 4th of January at the Liffey Valley Shopping Centre and Letterkenny.
With so many of these vote by text events, celebrities could be forgiven for being a little jaded about the benefits. But thanks to Merlin donating €15K to Irish Autism Action from the Get Go; our Celebrity Brian Ormond said he couldn't possibly say no!
That is 15 more Pro-bono Assessments at the Solas Centres for families who desperately need them.
